Lineage - Korea announces (https://bbs.lineage.co.kr/lineage/new_announcement/pre_lineage/read.asp?ListNum=120&NoticeID=2&PageNum=1) that the Korean Test server will receive the following updates on 6/30:
  1. Minimum level to party chat will be level 6.

The Gathering
The wizards had gathered in the courtyard with the intention of discussing the progress of a young and eccentric wizard, Roberto el Magnifico. Well, that’s what he called himself—everyone else referred to him as “Little Bobby” or sometimes just “Bobo” (but not to his face). He was a nice enough young man, but not quite the brightest gemstone in the old treasure chest, if you take my meaning.

It seemed as though Little Bobby was learning just enough magic to be dangerous. Just last week he’d managed to turn the local cats into bugbears. That was an interesting evening… Poor old Talass had just settled in for a bath as a pack of wild beasts came crashing in! It was at this moment, as the group met to discuss whether to exile the bumbling young wizard, that the commotion was heard from Bobby’s chamber window.

“Aha!” came the yells from above. “I’ve got it. It’s not just the words, but the actions as well!”

“Is that you-know-who?” asked Ellyonne.

“I’m afraid so,” replied Talass. “I guess we should see what’s going on before Bobo hurts himself.”

With that, the band of wizards moves to confront whatever mischief this “Robert the Magnificent” has created.

Player Story Submissions
Have a knack for story-telling and the desire to share your tales of adventure in Lineage?

Submit your Lineage player story! Stories will be chosen based on their relevant portrayal of the Lineage world and/or characters and adventures. The author’s real or character name (depending upon their preference) will be displayed with the story on our site.

Please use the following guidelines for submissions:

  1. The story must reflect something related to Lineage; for example, a tale of a pledge hunt, an adventurer’s diary entry, or an amusing tale of what not to do when hunting monsters. Recommended word length for submissions is 1000 words or less.
  2. The story must not be sexually offensive, racially offensive, in bad taste or violate the Lineage User Agreement in any other way.
  3. Please include a screenshot to be posted with your story. The screenshot should relate to the story in some manner, or can be a picture of your main Lineage character.

All visitors to the Lineage web site will be able to read this story and see the name of the author that submitted it – so this is your chance to display your literary talent!

Submissions should be entered via our Support Tool using the “Ask a Question” tab. Please be sure to select “Screenshots and Player Stories” under the Department tab and then attach your image file for the screenshot and text document for the story to the submission. Please be sure to include your real name, and a character name and server to which the story may be credited. All submissions become the property of NCsoft and may be used for advertising or promotional purposes.

The deadline for this round of Player Story Submissions is Monday, July 14th.

Level 50 Quest
NewsPos (http://www.newspos.com/Content.asp?tb=writer&ob=news&seqs=100&page=1&pb=N) reports numbers that NC-Korea has reported on level 50 players which have received the Level 50 quest items. Korea has had the level 50 quest since June 4, so this report is day 24. I'll try to get our Day 24 report too when that time comes around (that would be July 19).

I also took the numbers that Lineage Playforum released on June 11 for players that are level 52.

So just to clarify any confusion, this is the ratio of level 50 quest items to level 52 players. Also, the reason that they are not equal numbers is because many players blow their items. Keep these in mind when you draw any conclusions. ;)

Ring of Summon Control found on Depardieu

Yesterday night a Ring of Summon Control was found on Depardieu by Knightoff, Giants, and Hankukin. He did not wish to say what monster dropped it, but is very happy to have it, and plans to hunt for another. Giants is very excited because next level he will get to summon gargoyles.

Roberto el Magnifico
Roberto el Magnifico toiled over the ancient scrolls, working fervently to decipher the magic contained in the lost runes. The candles burned low, casting long shadows throughout his chamber.

“I’m so close! I can just feel it,” he muttered to himself. “What am I missing?”

Hours passed as he worked his way through the incantations, over and over… with no success. His bones aching, he stood to stretch and pace the room.

“Aha!” he shrieked. “I’ve got it. It’s not just the words, but the actions as well!”

Far below his tower window, a group of old wizards looked up, curious about the commotion. With arched eyebrows, they glanced at each other.

“Is that you-know-who?” asked one.

“I’m afraid so,” came the only reply…

LoA Outages
The Lands of Aden server experienced another strange outage last night, akin to the one we experienced last week which had Ken and Dep overrun by temporary homeless players.

The outage began for me at approximately 10pm est with a kennel master who would not release my dog. Attempting to resolve the bulky kennel master issues with a quick restart, I found myself unable to reconnect. After several attempts I gave up for the evening and tried logging into Ken. Ken was indeed up and running, but I missed my LoA home. After giving my new Harry Potter book a fertive glance I decided to go to bed.

We'll keep you updated when we hear word from NC on the flaky server behavior.

UPDATES:

Posted by NC staff on the official Lineage Discussion Boards:

06/26/03 10:16 PM
Hey everyone -

They're looking into the problem with LoA right now. I'll let you know as I hear any details about what is wrong, why it's wrong, and most importantly of all, when it will stop being wrong.

-Leilo

06/26/03 10:24 PM
Yes - it's rebooted and back. For lack of going into great depth, it was a sub-server type of crash that shouldn't have caused any disconnects - just what most of you experienced with the logging out and not back in problem.

It's back up and running now and our network guys are going to keep an eye on it. (And CaptSturm is raising an eyebrow at it as well from home right now...) Sorry about the inconvenience everyone. :(

-Leilo

06/26/03 10:24 PM
One of the server apps did hang/crash. I'll work with Ops to nail down this issue. (not sure at this point if its flaky hardware or maybe a config setting).

NCsoft to Unveil "New and Improved" Lineage, July 2

- Test server update for first episode, Light & Shadow, due on July 2 -

Seoul, South Korea, June 24, 2003- NCsoft Corporation (CEO Tack Jin Kim) announced plans to unveil its newest installment of the Lineage series on test servers beginning on July 2 in Korea. The first of six episodes to be released over approximately three years has been dubbed Light and Shadow and will go public on July 2.

The Light and Shadow episode will feature a new class system, a first for Lineage since the launch of its game services. Amid increasing speculation among gamers, the new class system provides a new and exciting challenge for Lineage players.

NCsoft has indicated that the new Lineage series will not stop at mere episode updates, but mark the beginning of a fresh new story, promising to upgrade customer service and game playability to new levels.

Lineage services were launched on Sept. 1998 in Korea with Talking Island, the first of a twelve-episode series. Thereafter, Lineage has succeeded in securing over 2 million loyal customers, showcasing the potential of Korean-made games and playing a pioneering role in the popularization of online games. Lineage currently boasts over 120 thousand concurrent users and was ranked the most popular game at PC Baangs, according to a study by Media Web in Korea.

Episdode 13 - Killer Bee
Two more NPCs from the Korean Test server updates today, care of Nue(http://nue.howgo.to). (FYI, as far as resource files go, anything which has animations corresponding to inflicting damage is considered a monster and anything which has no attack animations is considered an NPC)

  • Prince Pledges - # of players in pledges led by a prince
  • Princess Pledges - # of players in pledges led by a princess

Happy 28th Birthday, amateras!
Indeed, it is that time of year again where it is amateras's birthday. (It seems to come every year at the same time!) He's 28. Woohoo! For those who don't know, amateras is the one who takes time every day to translate all that news from Korea about Lineage and Lineage 2 (on lineagecompendium.com and lineage2compendium.com).

For some reason, every time I ask him what I should get him for his birthday, he says "Man-Killing Robot". However, I think he'd settle for a blueprint. If anyone has art skillz and wants to draw a nice man-killing robot for him to use as a Windows background, that would be an awesome thank you gift. :)

Episode 13 ToI - Quick Facts
Lineage Playforum reports (http://community.playforum.net:8080/bbs/prog/column?action=read&iid=10051004&kid=4388) a few observations about the Korean Test server:
  1. The Teleport Runes are items which only work when you're standing in a magic circle, like the one on the right. These circles are only located on the 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th and 50th floors. So basically, the runes are just keys to the stairways in those floors. The Teleport Scrolls are better if you just want to get there in a hurry.
  2. Zenith Ring (the Ring dropped by the Zenith Queen) appears to make you invulnerable to poison. A player took off all his armor and couldn't get poisoned at all by scorpions, while wearing the Zenith ring.
  3. Seer (ToI 20f Boss) drops pretty well. Korean Test servers have 5x increased drops, very similar to the US Test server, so keep that in mind. Following is a list of drops from a Seer on Korean Test: Blessed Scroll of Resurrection (2), Scroll of Enchant Weapon (2), Blessed Scroll of Enchant Armor (1), Blessed Scroll of Enchant Weapon (1), Teleport to 21f Scroll, Pine Wand (2), Katana (3), Spirit Crystal: Clear Mind, Dagger of Bad Luck (2), adena (43000), Maple Wand (2), Blinding Potion (1), Potion of Mana (10), Blessed Scroll of Remove Curse (2), Blessed Plate Mail, Magic Gem (4), Potion of Wisdom (19), Sapphire, Potion of Greater Haste (4), Potion of Bravery (31), Amulet of Intelligence, Spellbook: Darkness (2), Spellbook: Curse: Blind (2), Spellbook: Vampiric Touch (2), Spellbook: Weapon Break.

LC Auction beta testing
It's been a while since I mentioned the LC Auction site, however I think I'm ready for people to be brought in to help me test this.

The LC Auction section will be a new section where you can auction your items for adena (this is NOT for real-money trades, which is a bannable offense). It is primarily targetted at LoA server, since there is no global, but it should be useful to people who don't like spamming global with "SELLING +0 JUNK" over and over again.

Anyway, right now it's in a beta form - it seems to be working, but I'd like to have people test it to make sure it's stable.

So, without further ado, here's what I am looking for:

LoA players who have used ebay.com or other auction sites and know how an auction is supposed to work. You should be someone who pays great attention to detail and can actually help me get this thing running. I want people who can look at the system and find bugs AND make suggestions. If you can't do that, just wait until I make it public.

Also, if you're the type of person who likes to complain and whine when a beta has a bug, even though you were well-warned that it was a beta, please just wait until I make it public.

If you don't have time to help me test, also please just wait until I make it public.

If I haven't scared you away yet, email me web@lineagecompendium.com and I'll get you set up with an account ASAP. Please briefly explain why you'd be a good beta tester and tell me your LC account name.

It’s player Q&A time again, this time with DDeFoe!

While there are plenty of behind-the-scenes team members running the day-to-day Lineage operations, the world of Lineage would be an empty landscape without the players who bring it to life. Continuing in the same manner as our first player Q&A, we’ll be talking to those players who go out of their way to help bring Aden to life! In-game or out-of-game, these are the people who’ve had a significant impact on Lineage as we know it in North America, and sometimes beyond!

For our next player Q&A, you’ll have your chance to ask questions of DDeFoe – founder, designer, and coder for the Lineage: The Players Guide fansite. DDeFoe has been playing Lineage since Summer of 2001 and has devoted countless hours developing and updating one of the most informative Lineage fansites on the web.

The guidelines to remember before starting:

  1. Post only two questions; repeats are to be expected, and we are only taking about a dozen or so.
  2. Questions need to be directed toward the subject person and their Lineage experiences.

The question thread will be closed on Thursday, June 26th, and is located here.

Cloning in Werldern

An interesting occurrence happened today in Werldern town. During a fight between the BlueDragons bloodpledge and the Firstlove bloodpledge, several players were killed, but not really. It seemed that for some reason doubles of certain players were created and bodies can be seen even though the player was standing perfectly fine next to it. When the clone is hit you turn pink, and you go chaotic if you kill it. The clone cannot be tamed or healed. Above we see Tissot, who has apparently learned to copy himself.

Server Publish 6/17
Update: The areas in red have been updated.

The US Lineage servers will be brought down for a brief unscheduled maintenance period at 11:30 AM CDT on Tuesday, June 17th. The servers are expected to remain unavailable for approximately 15-30 minutes while we publish the following content:

All servers:

  • Fixed an issue with the /duel command on the non-PvP (Ken Rauhel) server. Duel participants may start the duel in a Safety Zone, but will have to conduct the duel in a Normal Zone; area-effect magic will not work in a duel.
  • Players can no longer sell enchanted or negatively-enchanted items to NPC shopkeepers.
  • Scrolls of Escape will now always take players to the nearest town; new Teleport to Pledge House Scrolls will now be sold by various NPC merchants.
  • Pledge members will now be able to pay maintenance fees for their pledge house on behalf of the pledge leader.

Episode 13 - Mops and NPCs
Nue (http://myweb.hinet.net/home2/alks/lin/nuelin.htm) posted more images of the new Episode 13 monsters on his site.

Monsters
Spirit of Fire Boss Spirit of Earth Boss Unicorn Guardian Armor Episode Mage

NPCs
Episode Guild Master Episode Female Chief Episode Diviner Episode Man Episode Woman Episode Man Episode Woman

That second Episode Woman sure looks like a Lineage 2 Dark Elf...

Rumor Mill: We also got an email from someone who wishes to remain nameless that said that the resource files on the Korean Test server also reveal the names of the animations of the new class. Apparently, instead of the standard PC attacks: Sword, Axe, Bow, Spear, Staff, the animations have different names: Sword, Cross Bow, Double Sword, Claw, Dagger, Shuriken. Interesting, if it's true..

LoA Item - Thor's Hammer
Sifting through the hurricane known as "my inbox", I found this email from MystRyder of the ThunderCats pledge on LoA. While hunting Heine 4f, he received a Thor's Hammer from Elekkadom.

Thor's Hammer has a random probability of hitting the target with Call Lightning. It's also not a bad weapon without the Call Lightning. Congrats MystRyder!

ToI - levels 41-50
NewsPos also mentioned a few other pieces of information about the new ToI. There are always stairs leading from floor 5 to floor 6, however, there are never stairs leading from a 10th floor in a set to the next floor. However, the scrolls that you need can drop from any monster. For example, you don't have to be on floors 31-40 to get a Teleport to 41f scroll. You could be extremely lucky and get a 41f scroll from 2f.

NewPos also mentioned that the 6th floor was inserted by the developers as a place to park your character in case you needed to pause your hunting for a few moments. For example, if you need to go get some food, put your character on the sixth floor and go eat ;)

Finally, the Mutant Ungoliant and Mutant Ramia can't see morphed players, so getting into ToI should be a nice easy transition for players who have never tried it before.

And now, the finale of the new ToI monsters:

Levels 41 - 50 (http://www.newspos.com/Content.asp?tb=bnews&ob=news&seqs=38&page=1&pb=N)

One player, Greysword, sold all his items so he could buy two Level 41 scrolls for the reporter to use and bring us this report. They went with a group of players, but who made it to 50? Let's find out..

41 - lava ghost (~level 45)
42 - has Scary Iron Golem (a stronger Iron Golem, but still slow)
43 - adds Lesser Dragon
44-45 - same as 43, with more mops
46 - Rest.. You'll need it.
47 - Lava Necromancer, pretty much the same as a regular Necromancer (strength and drops)
48 - Much more difficult, lots of Bone Dragons and Lesser Dragons. They used all their Counter Magic scrolls and made a run for 49...
49 - Only two of them survived (Greysword and the reporter). This level was much like 48, so another run for 50.
50 - The reporter was alone now, Bone Dragons, Lava Necromancer, Lesser Dragon and Lich, in his new home, level 50.

0Hercules0 - Level 72
NewsPos reports (http://www.newspos.com/newspos/Content.asp?tb=writer&ob=news&seqs=87&page=1&pb=N) that 0Hercules0, Castoll Server knight, has reached level 72. (He was level 70 back in late March).

The article mentions that the super-high level players, like Poseidon, Light, 0Hercules0, etc. all have the goal of getting to level 75 (which they should reach within the next three months). 0Hercules0 had a message for NC that Lineage should be a game which supports professional gaming, like so many other games out there today.

The New Tower of Insolence
Reporters for NewsPos braved the "new" Tower of Insolence and tried to describe, in a four-part picture report, what each floor is like now. I'll start off by saying it is *very* different than before. Fortunately, instead of adding even harder levels on top of the first 10, they've made multiple hunting areas, all within one big tower ;)

Here is the quick floor-by-floor, just give me the facts summary:

Levels 1 - 10 (http://www.newspos.com/Content.asp?tb=bnews&ob=news&seqs=32&page=1&pb=N)

Level 1 - Empty as always
Level 2 - No more Dancing Sword or Dire Wolf. Introduced Mutant Ungoliant and Mutant Ramia. These are like DV Skels in strength.
Level 3/4 - No Dancing Sword, No Dire Wolf, No Lesser Dragon. Medusa and Chimera every once in awhile.
Level 5 - No Lesser Dragon, No Dancing Sword. Cockatrice is here, as well as more Medusa, more Chimera and stairs to 6f.
Level 6 - Empty.
Level 7-10 - No Lesser Dragon, No Bone Dragon, No Lesser Demon, a ton of Succubus, and no Lich on 10f.

I'll stop the list for a second to say that these floors cycle in groups of 10, each floor getting more difficult and introducing tougher monsters than the floors before it. The 6th floor of each cycle is an empty "rest" floor. The scrolls now send you to 11f, 21f and 31f. (Old 6f scrolls are now 21f scrolls). On to level 11!

Levels 11 - 20 (http://www.newspos.com/Content.asp?tb=bnews&ob=news&seqs=34&page=1&pb=N)

Level 11 - Dire Wolf, Chimera
Level 12 - adds Succubus
Level 13/14 - adds Evil Mimic (stronger than regular Mimic)
Level 15 - adds a ToI Beholder, not very strong, but MR set needed
Level 16 - empty
Level 17 - Tons of mops, just like 15, but more.
Level 18 - adds Dancing Sword, very hard to find your way around.
Level 19 - An insane amount of monsters. The reporters were killed on this floor, so..
Level 20 - ???

Levels 21 - 30 (http://www.newspos.com/Content.asp?tb=bnews&ob=news&seqs=35&page=1&pb=N)

Level 21 - Dire Wolf, Scary Fire Eggs (level 40, not strong and can't see SOSC)
Level 22 - adds Nightmare
Level 23 - adds Scary Cerberus (level 42)
Level 24 - Scary Fire Eggs in very large groups
Level 25 - adds Lesser Demon
Level 26 - chill-out here
Level 27 - Ifrits and Cerberus. Yes, multiple Ifrit.
Level 28-30 - Increase in number of Ifrits, Lesser Demon and Cerberus as you go up!

Levels 31 - 40 (http://www.newspos.com/Content.asp?tb=bnews&ob=news&seqs=33&page=1&pb=N)

Level 31 - Evil Skeleton Axeman and Evil Ghoul (both are beefed up mops)
Level 32-35 - Evil Skeleton Soldier and monsters from 31 in increasing numbers.
Level 36 - Naptime.
Level 37-38 - More of level 35, getting harder and harder.
Level 39 - Evil Skeleton Archer gang killed the reporters..
Level 40 - ???

Level 41-50, coming soon. :)

Provider Maintenance 6/13-6/15
We have been alerted that a secondary service carrier beyond our ISP will be conducting an emergency cable move this weekend (June 13th – 15th). As a result of this move, a portion of our users may experience at most two disconnects at some point during the maintenance period of midnight and 2:00 AM on Saturday morning (6/14) while traffic is switched off and back on to the cable. These disconnects should not affect all users. However, as this is not directly within our control, we want to be sure users are aware and exercise caution during the overall maintenance period of 10:00 PM CDT June 13th – 6:00 AM CDT June 14th.

It should also be noted that the provider has reserved the period of 10:00 PM CDT Saturday, June 13th to 6:00 AM CDT Sunday, June 14th in the event that they do not complete the maintenance during the original period. Disconnects are unlikely in this case, but again we urge playing with caution.

Episode 13 - Bats
Nue (http://myweb.hinet.net/home2/alks/lin/nuelin.htm) provides some more graphics from the Korean Test client today.

First, a new monster, simply called Bats.

Also, graphics for the items mentioned yesterday:

Teleport RuneRing of Zenith

If I had to guess, I would say that most people are right in guessing that the Teleport Rune is like a scroll to the Tower of Insolence, except it can be reused.

And finally, Nue posts this interesting pillar, which may be a preview of the appearance of the new dungeons.

Illusionary Items event
Many people are curious about the details of the Illusion Event, so hopefully this news post will clear some things up.

There are new NPCs in-game for 1 week (they are currently in and will be removed on June 18 at 10 AM CT). One of these NPCs is Illusina, in Oren.

These NPCs sell 5 items usable by all classes:

  1. Sword of Illusion: 10/10, Material: Iron, Weight: 40, Cost: 300a
  2. Bow of Illusion: 3/3, Material: Wood, 2-Handed, Weight: 40, Cost: 300a
  3. Armor of Illusion: AC 7, Material: Iron, Weight: 300, Cost: 300a
  4. Scroll of Enchant Armor Illusion: Cost: 100a
  5. Scroll of Enchant Weapon Illusion: Cost: 100a

The idea is you can experiment with Lineage's enchant system for very little adena. Based on some quick experiments and whispers (thanks!) the Armor can be safely enchanted to +5 and the weapons can be safely enchanted to +3. The scrolls can either go +0 (the message is "Nothing happened"), +1, or blow the item. As an example, on my first try, I spent 1,000 adena and made myself a +6 Armor of Illusion (one of the scrolls did +0), giving me -13 AC (which is better AC than my +5 Magician's Robe).

Here's the catch: The items only last about 5 hours (there is a clock on the items, so you can quickly check the expiration time) and if you quit or restart, any Armor, Sword or Bow you are holding will disappear (so drop it on the ground first ;). The scrolls are not affected by restart or quit, they will stay in your inventory indefinitely.

Level 52+ Players - Korea
Lineage Playforum posted (http://community.playforum.net:8080/bbs/prog/column?action=read&iid=10051003&kid=1997) the latest official numbers from NC-Korea of the number of people by class and gender that are level 52+.

Just for fun, I added the numbers for the US servers based on people who have revealed their levels at the bottom. Since most people reveal DK, it's probably fairly accurate (except a handful of people which have been reported this week). Hopefully, Lineage - US will reveal the official numbers soon!

Level 50 Quest - +9 or bust..
Lineage Playforum reports (http://community.playforum.net:8080/bbs/prog/column?action=read&iid=10051003&kid=2000) about Han Byul, who you might remember as Light's companion on Arain server in Korea.

As we already know, even though the quests aren't here yet, the level 50 quest items range in weight from 30 to 110, depending on which class you are. Level 50 Quest items cannot be stored, traded or dropped, so this creates a potentially negative situation if the level 50 quest item is one that is inferior to your existing weapons.

Thus, the level 50 quest has a secret second chapter - after you defeat Valok, are you lucky enough to overenchant your quest item to the point where it's useful to you?

In the case of Han Byul (an elf), she already has a +11 Red Knight's Sword (8+11/12+11) and a +9 Sayha's Bow, so the quest prize of a +0 Fire Blade (14+0/6+0) wasn't the most appealing thing to her. Her partner, Light, took his +0 Death Blade and blew it using n-dais, but one b-dai remained.

She took the b-dai to the +5 Fire Blade and it only went to +6. 3 n-dai later, she ended up with a +9 Fire Blade, which actually *is* something to keep. With +4 to hit and undead damage (Material: Silver), she finds it more effective than her +9 rapier and now happily keeps it her inventory.

Level 50 Quest - Korean Live Servers
Lineage Playforum reports (http://community.playforum.net:8080/bbs/prog/column?action=read&iid=10051003&kid=1987) that after 11 attempts, a party of level 50+ players (one of each class) on RodeMaii server in Korea have completed the level 50 Quest. Each attempt took several hours and the final attempt took about 2 1/2 hours.

The knight took 430 c-clears, 11 g-haste, 50 braves, 80 counter magic scrolls and the mage took 40 clears, 10 blue, 50 m-gems. Other classes stocked up on potions too, but they didn't specify how many.

As for Valok, the knight took him 1:1 while the others healed him. The Knight with 2 fire rings took 150-200 damage per hit. They think remote attacks were more effective than melee on Valok. Counter Magic is essential.

They also provided more details on each step in the quest (and some clarifications), so we updated our Level 50 Quest guide.

Level 50 Quest

And also (most importantly?) one of the items has changed. The Crystal Ball of Mana (the prize for the Mage) has changed from -3 AC to -2 AC, but now it gives +1 INT and +100 MP.

oops! Forgot to mention, level 50 quest items cannot be traded. They are yours forever.

Orcish Bume Smache
One of the two new weapons in the recent LoA server update is the Orcish Bume Smache. It looks like a mace, it's one-handed, 8/9 damage, +3 to hit, knight only, weight 40 and randomly inflicts Meteor Strike (not the same as the legendary Mage version). Volstok, Knight of Ancient Anarchy Blood Pledge, got it while hunting Orc Beach -- from a Rova Orc!

According to Volstok's tests, on a 25% MR Princess, a single hit inflicted an extra 60-70 damage!

If anyone has a picture of the Orcish Bume Smache in action, send it in. ^^

6/4 - US Server Publish
The US Lineage servers will be brought down for a brief maintenance and publish on Wednesday, June 4th at 10:00 AM CDT. The contents of this publish will include the following:

All servers:

  • Improvements have been made to eliminate NPC “lag”. Dogs/Summons/Tames should keep up with their masters. Please note, however, that monsters will also move at their intended speed – which may, in some cases, be a significant increase over current speeds. Please exercise caution while exploring familiar game areas.
  • Fixed typos with some NPC conversation pages.
  • Fixed a bug with doors not being opened correctly.
  • Maids at certain houses have been relocated.
  • Forgotten Island "low walls" have been changed to "high walls" and can no longer be fired over (ranged/bow weapons or magic spells).
  • Many teleporter NPCs will now provide teleportation service to Aden town.
  • The interiors of Talking Island and Silver Knight Town coliseums are now Safety Zones.
  • If the item transaction window is cancelled by the other person you're trading with, your trade window will disappear.
  • Added new class-related info to the character creation screens; the new class is not available for creation at this time.
  • Added /duel command. To use this command, face the character you wish to duel and type /duel. If accepted, you may duel with no item drop, no chaotic penalty, and no increase to PK count; however, if you die in a duel, you will lose experience. You will not have to hold down the Control key to attack your dueling opponent. If a dueler teleports away, they lose the duel. Duels may be initiated in Safety Zones, but not fought in Safety Zones.
  • Re-enabled the /music command. (“/music on” to turn on music, “/music off” to mute, or “/music” to open adjustment slider.)

Scroll of Summon
Lineage Playforum reports (http://community.playforum.net:8080/bbs/prog/column?action=read&iid=10051004&kid=4264) that a new scroll was found on the Korean Test servers, the Scroll of Summon.

It does nothing right now and GMs wouldn't comment on it. This could just be an item that slipped through the cracks and will never see the light of day, but it's nice to know what stuff NC experiments with, even if it's just a scroll with a suspicious name.
