Marak2001 hits level 52!

Marak has finally done what noone has done on ken, hit lv 52. It's been roughly 10 weeks since we heard from Marak and last time when we saw him, he was in a Demon morph. I've been interviewing Marak since level 50 and in the past months many things had happened. I won't go into detail, but i'll remind you of things such as: the experience loss change/removal of the change, dex/ac, soft ac, improved stats per level by class type, mop level increase, etc. Despite all those nerfs and improvements, I can surely say it was a rough time for Marak. From level 51 onward, he spent 6-7 hours a day leveling up and gaining roughly 2 % a day. 2% seems a little, but it costs time and 200-250k. For the past two weeks, Marak spent most of his time in FV and unfortunately got a non-lag related death there. Marak's death count right now is 7; 6 of them are lag related. Marak's base hp/mp is 404/125 and has the goal of levelling some more. His dream is to own the Palace of Aden when Episode 12 is published. Marak's tips for leveling up a prince or any character to 52 are don't take unessasary risks and be patient.

Marak picked +1 STR making his base stats: STR 17, DEX 12, CON 11, INT 10, WIS 11, CHA 16. He uses Amulet of Strength and +5 Power Gloves, bringing his fighting strength to 20.

Because a prince is the hardest character to level up, with all the armour/weapon restrictions..and the first one to get level 52 on Ken is a PRINCE!!! A PRINCE!!! If we ever have a Dep vs. Ken match...nuff said.

Whats sad is that DEP players dosnt have anything good to say at all to the Ken people. They just keep fighting... But, look at it this way: Dep is PK server, so everyone wants to play Knight there. Ken is a free server, they have more then only Knights ^^

it is sad for a prince to be first lvl 52 in the server because knight mage and elf can easily beat him to be the first in the server but none in ken server can beat a prince which lvl very slow so that is sad

Im not criticizing i state that cos someone say he is the 1st lvl 52 in all servers.

well now ppl always compare dep with ken server and I think that was started by some ppl in ken. why not u compare korean taiwan and hk server with us.
look at hk server they r just over a yr old and has so many lvl 52 characters now. compare US servers with the other we may be the worst amoung all

The Japan server is fairly recent. It would hardly be any older than Ken.

#41 Your much mistaken if you believe that. Japanese servers are quite a bit newer then ken server. Dont you remember when Lineage gazetter quit his site in order to become a japanese GM? That was after ken.

umm...can u guys like stop belittling marak's achievement and congratulate him? getting a lvl 52 prince is extremelly hard, and the fact that he did it without those dream items or super items makes his accomplishment even the more greater. So to those people who are talking about how sad it is or how bad his items are, keep your mouth shut unless you have something good to say. He worked really hard for lvl 52, and he deserves praise, not criticizing. congrats marak ^^ lets go party at hooters!!!!!!!!! and i hope kitsunefox comes back to lineage o.0!

Always when Ken gets something before Dep(Faf end, DK prince, first lvl50 in US) all Dep people whine and moan about how much better Dep is, no threat from PK makes Ken weak, blah blah blah.

Why dun y'all stfu and say something positive about Marak? He died so many times at 50+ and still he worked hard and he overcame it to get to 52. He doesn't play all day, unlike 75% of the 50+ people on Dep. Dep people can say all they want about Dep owning Ken; Dep is older, if they open on the same day, it would be different story.

Doesn't matter.. gratz Marak, hope you have fun w new morph and get some drops at bosses! it's more fun than leveling o.-

i dont think people are downing marak but rather downing the knights of ken server because basically all there is to do there is hunt, talk and siege...
if marak2001 made level52 before any knights(and knight can level up many times faster than a prince), that shows how much knights on ken suck....

he isnt extraordinare because he won the race to lv52 on ken, he just leveled up to 52 on a server where there are no good levelers except for him...

flame away with the "maybe they just didnt want to level up" stuff, i wont read the posts anyway

The encouragement I received on ken server helped me alot. Ty everyone on Ken :)

It took me long time to get to 52 :) But its worth it. DK morph is so much fun hehee. Even tried dark elf morph and its fun to(fast). I use sls+8 becasue i lvled alot in dv, and b-kat is not to useful in dv. I used my money to power lvl instead of buying better ac/weapons eheh. It cost me 10 mill+ to go from 51-52,so its not cheap to lvl :)

P.S. Prince is not an easy class to lvl :) Alot hard work ehhee. Now i try for 55+ ^^ hehe, this morph will help alot ^^. I added another point to strength if anyone wants to know.

#55 i doubt marak plays only 6hrs a day with deaths and made it to 52 so quickly -___- as most of you should know hitting 52 doesn't really take skillz at all, it jus takes ALOT of time.

#62 z z z z again with the dep vs ken and the excuses that come along with it. If u really wanna start sumthing about dep vs ken go to forums or something cuz we've descussed this many many times. As for my opinion dep would win again ken. NOT because its been out longer, cuz that has nothing to do with it. I bet you if u look at all the chars they have been made recently becuz many ppl start over. Dep does spend alot more time fighting ppl than they do mops cuz its FUN. hunting non-stop gets boring easily.

Anywayz watever man i quit already so u guyz can go back to fighting with eachother

Thank you. We aren't downing Marak, we're just saying how much better he is at leveling than all the knights in Ken server. Considering Princes have the least advantages of all the classes, its rather amusing to see that the first level 52 on Dep's rival server, Ken, is the WEAKEST class..Props to Marak..but what we saying to the knights of Ken, get off your asses.

73: How much better he is at leveling than all the knights on Ken? Um.. HERC went from 49->50 in 16 days. You're right, he sux at leveling since he's well on his way to 52 with a knight after he leveled a mage to 50. Bomelith started AFTER Marak was 50, and Bome an elf is level 51. Also, some of the high level knights have stopped leveling, since leveling is hella boring.

And who said it's a race? This is a game, people play differently. Some like Marak want level, that's what makes him happy. Some want to be the richest so they don't level and boss hunt 24/7, that's what makes them happy. Some joke around and waste time all day, that's what makes them happy.

As for the dep vs ken, dep has been around longer but ken doesnt have to deal with the fights all the time.....so, it evens out! lvling is really boring...i seriously dont know how ken server people can go on without fighting when its not siege time. the game is so much more fun when people attack you...or maybe its just me? Oh, and if u guys want to see dep players vs ken players go to test server!

All you people are fighting about this server thing for no reason. You can hardly expect a nonpk server to be as powerful as a pk one. First off nothing beats hunting chaotic high levels with good equipment, just because they are bored and feel like killing newbies to risk dropping their hard earned items. I mean it's like christmas. =)

Well it certainly is not easy when you're lvling a prince, and sure it gets boring cus prince can't hunt most places (places that give good exp ) without having to spend alot on pots etc . I myself spent over 11-12mil lvl'ing from 49-50..... o.O imagine using those money on something else. Anyways, it's nice to be able to reach your goal though.

Well one thing I want to point out is, being the weakest class (Yes prince IS the weakest class), princes on dep have great disadvantages and if you are to lvl high, you must avoid constant conflicts with other people..and it's hard. I am not sure if you can get cancelled on ken server in normal zones (it's been a year since i've played ken) but still, Ken princes/ses 'should' really have nothing to worry about since nothing can kill them outside town and when it's not siege time. Where as dep princes/ses suffer from constant cancelling and 'stalking' when something goes wrong between pledges; and you can't really do anything about it.

I'm not here to belittle Marak's accomplishment, i've congratulated him earlier o.o it really is a GREAT achievent. I simply want to state a fact not to start an argument about which server is better.

Marak2001 has worked hard to get to 52 i use to hunt with him back in the start of Ken server... I remember seeing him Eversholt Quest Pattycakes Meryoka Zero Wing and a bunch of other princes/MAges trying to get a scarecrow for them selves back at start of ken lolz...

He's Worked hard and deserves your respect...

And Yes I do play Dep server.... have a char on ken too but retired...

This is no place to argue about which server is better, who will win against who, etc. And #45, you have to realize that some people in the US don't live to play. HK servers have been out a year... so what?? Asian countries like China, Korean, Japan, have the biggest markets for video gaming. You can't compare that to the US. Even games like Diablo II, Starcraft, etc, Asians virtually dominate the ladder.

Dep has been out for a while longer, and that's where most of the more "aggressive" players play. Knights would want to level up faster, since it's PVP, and they want a higher level to show for it.

You know if you own a castle the taxes pays off a bit on the amount of pots you take to each hunt, and congratulations on you hitting level 52. I never traded my sls+8 for +8b-kat, i just bought the b-kat+8 today so can hunt fv ^^.

I would like to thank everyone for there comments its been a hard accomplishment but its worth it. I love the morph its fun to hunt with. I going to take it slow for few days then go power lvling again. I rather spend my money on power lvling then items its more fun. :) Now the journey to 55+ begins eheh. DK will help me alot. I try for 53-54 by christmas :)

lol dep couldn't get there first? That is wrong. Its not Dep prince/ss couldn't, they DIDN'T want to. Why? cuz the way the game is played prince being lvl 52 is useless. A strong 45+ knight could probably beat a 52 prince --;; 52 prince is only good to show how long you play and have a powerful pledge. Dep server has more knights at 50+ becuz its survial of the strongest which are the knights, Pking 24/7 everyone on dep has to becareful and needs to be able to protect themselves.... the best and way is to play knight.... others prefer mages and stuff but its all the same..... cept for prince/ss they cannot protect themselves unlike KEN server as pepper pointed out earlier.

Is Ken server really a carebare server? -_____- u have sum strong ppl yes... but overall i think you guyz wouldn't be where u are if there were pks in the server

Are you saying that people who play on Ken server have some kind of genetic deficiency that people who play on Dep server don't have?

Guys - people picked the server they picked for a wide variety of reasons, mostly related to their personal game style and what aspects of Lineage they would enjoy most. Cut out the Ken vs. Dep stuff - it's pointless and gets nowhere except making strangers angry.

people the point of this was to congrat a person who had a goal and accomplished it. who cares what the goal was. my goal is +8 yumi minimum and lvl 50 as a water con elf. thats it. and when i achieve it, i will have my name posted on LC. and i dont give a F**K what you think about which server is better. i would prolly have moved to ken if i wasnt playing the game since a long ass time ago and therefore was well established. i didnt feel like being a newbie for the 4th time in lineage, on the 4th server i would have ever had to begin on (dep was my third, old server was my second, korean alpha was my first). i dont like being attacked outside sieges, i try to resolve instead of hold grudges. being able to cancel with my elf, has helped tremendously, but i just want my goal. i have sieged, ask dom. i have sieged many times, and never died.

oh btw u ken players like wingzerohero who make comments against dep players yet the sentence before that say to shut up about server differences, follow ur own advice. btw the first real dep vs ken "belittlement" was post #24 by Luffarmasken, most likely a ken player. all the posts before that were just people who thought it sad/wierd/funny that the first lvl 52 char on a server would be the hardest character to lvl. it had nothing to do about belittlement.

I don't think Lv52 Prince is useless, cuz there will be prince magic (L3) on LV50.

Sure, he could lose in dual with Lv45+ knight, but u didn't even notice the point of being lvl 52.

Because he had made his PRINCE character lv52, he could make lv52 knight character 200% better than other ppl.(pretty sure that Knight class is at least 200% easy to make lvl52 right?)

And Let's clear the point, that he is first LV52 prince in US server, and first LV52 player in Ken server.(This thing is the most valuable thing)

I suggest all Ken Server players come make a Level 48+ character on Depardieu, then you can talk.

There's no fight about which server is better. Just look at the numbers. It doesn't matter that Dep was around longer. Depardieu is better. It was the first Server in Korea too, and there are other Korean servers that have since surpassed Depardieu there(Fact). But here, it's not the same. Ken Rauhel can be better if it wants, but they aren't. Leave it at that. If it happened in Korea, why can't it here?

Personally it would take me a lot longer to make an elf lvl 45+ then it would a knight or mage.... im not good with elves took my elf with items almost a month to get 48 but only took my mage and knight about 2weeks...

Vail, I beg to differ. If you took the entire Ken population and dumped them into Dep, you are saying that all the Ken players would just be victimized over and over again and none of them would ever make it to 50.

Wrong. Some people, those who actually chose Ken because they were afraid of others, will stay at the bottom. They would be bottom feeders just like the population of Dep that stays at the bottom because they totally suck at PvP.

The rest of them would do something called ADAPT. Yes, believe it or not, there are some players on Ken who would be the same level on Dep, if they had chosen to play Dep instead. I know its hard for you to accept, for some reason everyone who adds a "my server is better than yours" comment seems to believe that people who chose Dep are just *better* than the others. Like clicking Dep instead of Ken is due to some innate skill level.

When it comes down to it, there are crappy crappy players on Dep that even the lamest Ken player could beat the hell out of. And vice versa. If Marak was on Dep, others would be sitting here holding him above their head as further proof that Dep was superior. But just because he's on Ken, without knowing any real information on how he plays, peopel cut him down.

Vail, you edited your post after I started responding! Stop throwing me off! ^^

This whole Dep Vs Ken thing is nonsense......

I think they should have started with one server and everyone play on it...

cuz look at the numbers.....both servers don't have the same numbers as it did a yr ago....(most likely ppl playing on test now....)

like during the event which ends today.....the crowd on both dep and ken reached around 1200....never seen that much ppl on the server before....

my personal thoughts...always liked dep cuz it is more realistic...in the sense of going out and being able to pk others...and ppl on ken must hate mop stealers and not able to do anything about it...of course there is always sieges to take their rage out on....

whatever server u picked....dep....ken....test....u picked it for a reason and liked it....so there will always be ppl defending what server they play....

unless they play all the servers....defend what they like best...
and look at the number of comments....
guess ppl r congratating the prince and bored since there is no new news....hehe

65+ac is just few of my good friend that i know their ac 100%... i am very sure their r ppl with much higher ac on ken... and keep in mind u get better ac as time pass by... dep is 1year+ older than ken...
As amer say which i agree with, marak dose hunt harder than anyone.. also i am very sure that many ppl play dep r weak too...

I haven't posted in fear of getting into the whole dep vs. ken act, mainly because I love debating.

But the attitudes of the dep people are amazingly poor, being a dep person myself simply because I started playing on dep in beta then quit lineage just after ken came arround and didn't like my week in ken when I played it.

But, I wish there was a debate about it, if not for the sake of having some fun.

Even though this is not the place especialy with congratulations going to marak on his great accomplishment.

The people on Ken and no different to the people on Dep though thier playing styles may be different and thier way of hunting different for this reason too.

^_^ I wish we could debate it, it would make such a good arguement, even Amer said he wished he had picked dep instead of ken if it weren't for the misconception of thinking NC would have another server running rather then just two seperate IPs (ya right).

I wish there was a way to switch over servers, I would love for amer to see how different and fun dep can be ^_^

The real way to beat the arguement I guess is to try the server, and I have tried both, between deps pk's (not a real problem really) and kens mop thieves of which are indistructable... fighting pk's doesn't seem all that bad.

sieges are wierd on ken too.. if your an elf or mage you can just walk into siege zone and pop off and arrow or two then run back out.. and your impervious again.. talk about annoying... unless your in the pledge that declaired.. your food for thought then ^_^

see no dep is better then ken crud.

Knight/Mage will take more time than Prince? LOL

Well, Knight have more HP and STr, and more dex.
Have Extra Damage if u LvUp by 10, Extra Hit Lvup By 3 or 5.
In addtion, Knights can use bravery.

Knight Class has fastest LvUp power in Lineage.

And Mages, who can use incredible Great-Heal and Haste, which are endless with +SoM. Well, mages needs more technical actions than Princes, but the point is, they can hunt in MLC, Ant Cave, and SKT dungeon endless.

Even they reached Lv40+, they can get 10% EXP/hr with Bugs/Skels.

Maybe for u, mages can be hard, but I TOTALLY disagree with Knight case.

wow this thread has gotten super long havent seen it this lng since the tsu thread. Wow alot of people just really think ken and dep servers are just better then eachother if you guys rember during beta we only had dep server so in a way ken server peeps used to be dep peeps but just dosent like PvP combat all the time that is why they are on ken.

It dosent mean that ken server is weak or anything just means they have diffrent prefrences. I prefer to play dep server over ken server it is just how i am. doesn't matter what server he plays, still stands out open in the lineage community for being the first prince to reach the lvl everyone wants...
I'm sure this will inspire others to work hard...not only princes/princess' because it is a difficult enough class to lvl up (all the stupid AC nerfs for all classes except knights).....
reaching 50+ with a prince/elf/mage seem to be a proud achievement with the new difficulty put upon those classes cuz of those crackheads in NC...

I think we should all gather on an IRC server and create a channel and debate this all out.....would be fun....
See who really wants to bitch about Dep being better or Ken being better...

i think many people are confusing skill with dedication. it does not take skill to lvl.. in fact it's pretty brainless. however, only the most dedicated of people toward lvl'ing will make it. i remember when people contracted the insane idea of kamakaze tactics on the dragons, and how people were de-leveling 4 times on 1 dragon, for the drops. people thought that was a stupid way to get something accomplished. however, when they ran around with a tsurugi and str ammulet, maybe cpm also, and were owning at sieges, people began to see the light. THAT is skill. knowing where/when/how to successfully defeat someone or something. marak was dedicated. im not saying he isnt skilled btw, i dont play that server and i dont even really know who he is, so im not putting him down at all.

amer, most of the old high lvl players on ken server DID adapt to dep server's pks etc..... by moving to the ken server o.o others moved to the ken server just to get a fresh start in lin, maybe they were too late coming in and were feeling way disadvantaged. others simply did not want the feeling of being killed at any moment due to some coi-bearing freak of nature appearing while ur fighting a mop. at some points in lordfire's leveling process people actually began to seek him out and hunt him, just so he could not achieve his goal. do you actually think such people would not have done the exact same thing to marak if they knew that was his goal?

and to add to i think it was vail's point, when talking about dep pks slowing the lvl process down its not just about being ENDED. the fact you were attacked, either had to venz, verr, or use pots, means you are not getting the 100% out of your hunt. u dont even have to die. just popping those 5 oranges and then tele'ing or whatever is slowing you down. or the cancelling cancelling cancelling. just a little point there.
