8/1 - Korean Test Server updates
Lineage - Korea announces (https://bbs.lineage.co.kr/lineage/new_announcement/pre_lineage/read.asp?ListNum=133&NoticeID=2&PageNum=1) the following updates to the Korean Test servers:
  1. You can buy Gauntlet and Stings from stores now.
  2. Dark Elf magic durations have been slightly increased.
  3. Dark Elf Weapons enhanced.

GameAbout posted (http://lineage.gameabout.com/news/index.asp?pg=/news/view.asp&menu_id=2&cts_id=1592) the changes to the spell durations:

  • Shadow Armor: 10 min -> 15 min
  • Moving Acceleration: 5 min -> 10 min
  • Burning Spirit: 8 min -> 12 min
  • Venom Resist: 5 min -> 10 min
  • Armor Break: 8 min -> 12 min
  • Uncanny Dodge: 5 min -> 12 min
  • Shadow Fang: 10 min -> 15 min

Wonder why they are making all of these changes to the DE class.

First the weapons and now their spells.

Looks like they are trying to make them a race that people will want to play.

I hope that they don't over power this new race.

And here was me thinking the Dark Elf looked far too overpowered already. Evidently not! Wonder what makes them so poor to play? The low hit points and lack of decent healing spells?

I think the low hit points, no braves, soft ac [maybe], and no shields make them under-powered I think. Also, I hear that they cant morph into things that increase their swing speed either, so that may also be a concern.

Their best weapons are a little bit better than TSU, but they wont be able to use the shield AND it could be that those weapons swing SLOWER than a knight onn haste + brave.

Thats what my GUESSES are on why they thought DE needed improvement.

remember...18 DEX !!! uncanny dodge!!! u dont need a shield
shadow fang and armor will be like enchant armor or enchant weapon current spells, so, it is not overpowered
remember also when mages were GODS...NC fixed that
if DE turns too powerful, NC will fix it also

whats going on (in my opinion of course) is that DE is designed as a vet class. They put these things in there because the first few levels will be absolute hell. yes they have hp items, but they arent born with them. you have to earn them. newbies wont be able to do this very well (for the most part, anyway) so it becomes kind of like elf. elves, if played right, can very well be best class in the game. (a knight with magic).

I think the way it seems to be going so far is, if oyu get past the hell of early levels as DE, and you get a nice set of items and whatnot, in the end you can be quite strong.

The new DE class should kick a$$.
So what if they are too good or crap. They will be changed and changed again.
If all else fails play another class.

They increase spell durations because players using de were having trouble hunting with spells because mp regen is so slow with de, even with items.

yeah, their mana points not too high also, so they need spells last longer
