NC - Q3 2002 IR Report

NC has released it's Q3 2002 report. I found two neat things: the estimated release dates of everything they are working on, and the user numbers. The US has stayed at it's June 2002 numbers. Hopefully this is a turn-around point and more people will start to play again :)

Release Dates

Lineage Forever (Full 3D upgrade of Lineage I graphics)
Lineage II (Korean beta starts in late 2002)
EverQuest (Korean, Taiwan, HK commericial service in late 2002)
Tabula Rasa (Theme Park of MMORPG; US beta starts in late 2003)
City of Heroes (Superhero MMORPG; US beta starts in early 2003)
Shining Lore (Fantasy animation targetted to younger teens and females; Korean commercial in early 2003)
Trade Wars (Sci-Fi, 3D; US commercial in 2003)
Wreckage (Car combat, 3D; US commercial in 2004)

lineage II korean late 2003 thats great ! That means a bit after them we will get lineage II beta for US. Go NC !! ^^

Dafish, play RagnarokOnline created by gravity, actually play a lot of other MMORPG and you will see how great NC really is. That there customer service is 200x better than the customer service you will find on other MMORPG's out there. Im so sick people bad mouthn em. I like em and I dont care what anyone else thinks about them.

still sad to see that the tiny city of hong kong has more users per month than the whole US server...

what's worse is lineage3d.com gets even more users monthly than the game itself so a hk fansite is more popular than lineage in the us =.=

LC gets about 12,000 page requests a day. thats HK+US and then some. for awile we were around 20,000 :(
Lineage 3d provides news to Tiawan and china as well not just the HK

this lineage 1 graphics thing will they make it like lin2? if so there will be almost no reason for me to play lin2....thats a good thing i just hope that its not going to be so big of an update that they will have to wipe all live servers 0.0

why do i get the feeling that the 3d version of regular lineage will be so buggy it's worthless? i mean, it took years for the 3d UO client to be relatively stable, and UO 2d was always pretty stable. lineage is a mess of a piece of sotware. i shudder to think of how craptabulous 3d lineage will be.

#7 It will look similar to what Lineage looks like now, but expect everything to look nicer, like the new TI. I think that's finally when we're getting those new character animations too.
#14 No, NCSoft would lose money if they did that. They make more from subscription fees than they ever could from selling games in stores.
#16 Early 2003.

I don't think Lineage Forever is gong to be what some of you are thinking. It won't be anything like Lineage II, so it's best not to compare them. It's more like a facelift for everything in the game right now. I think it's more likely to use 3D graphics, but for the most part, the players won't notice it. Think Diablo 2'ish (It's 3D, but not like Lineage II), but hopefully better. I hope they upgrade the animations for some of the items (Both in inventory and on the ground). I also hope they reanimate some of the older monsters (Orc, Dwarf, Elder, Arachnevil, etc.).

That reminds me...Maybe when we get new character animations, they will walk smoothly like some of the newer morphs do (Lycanthrope, Succubus). I think that would be good for Lineage, because when new players enter the game, choppy movement is always one of the first things they dislike.
