Poseidon - Level 70, AC -96, +10 Tsurugi

Many have already heard this weekend about the interview Playforum did (http://community.playforum.net:8080/bbs/prog/column?action=read&iid=10051003&kid=1566) with Poseidon of Gunter server in Korea (no, he's not banned - don't believe rumors), heralding his new accomplishment, Level 70.

For those who don't know, Posiedon started out as a CON knight and now that he has levelled to 70, he has had 20 stats points to distribute. He has added 8 to STR, 6 to CON and 6 to DEX making his base STR 24, DEX 18, CON 24.

Poseidon says his motivation is to 1:1 a dragon. However, with the dragons out for maintenance on the Korean servers, he fears that they are being made too strong for that to be possible.

The Korean servers had an update where every 5 levels, starting at level 65, has double the experience. So, level 49-64 is all the same experience, level 65-69 are double that, level 70-74 are double that, etc. To put this into perspective, this means that gaining 1% at level 70 is like gaining 4% at level 49. In addition, dying at level 70 would be the same as losing 40-52% at level 49 or if you were at level 48, delevelling to level 1.

Despite his almost 1000 HP, amazing AC and +10 Tsurugi, he still finds it challenging to take on 2 52+ knights at the same time. However, he didn't say impossible. :)

Poseidon, who is also currently about -26k chaotic for some reason, can also 1:1 guards fast. These guards can do 200+ HP damage per hit and have some unrealistic AC. He says it takes about 20 reds and 20 hits to take them on.

Playforum also showed a screenshot (which will make some of you nostalgic for the old days). This screenshot shows when Poseidon first hit 52, back in the old interface.

And the levelling continues...

for those who are wondering or eventually will wonder why he using i gloves, i'm pretty sure its cuz he no longer needs pgs with his base stats, so might as well get the extra ac.... if thats the case i wonder why he not using high +crystal gloves? o.O

Thanks Amateras for that... couldn't wait and I ended up using babblefish to translate the page on playforum... man what garbage that thing can output lol!!!

Also some stuff were studied over the original article on playforum as of how much time it would take someone who gives all his hard time like pos to reach level 100... they estimated (I assume without taking care of increase in power relative to leveling) that it would take 53 years??? Have I read that korean->translated to english properly???

Man NCI will have to lower the xp requirement or it's going to be useless leveling past 64.

What I find discouraging is that Pos is not a guy. Its a team, 4 or more people are behind him hunting 24/7. So, IMHO, he does not deserve the respect a guy like Marak or Neo does deserve. NC America rule of no account sharing is one I like, and which I agree of. Yeah, people should be free to do whatever they want, but want kind of competition or game world us 2 hours / day players can have when there are 24h day players out there?

Not bitter nor jealous - I have no idea how the hell NC could find out you are doing sharing on US servers... kinda of suspiscious having someone who doesnt sleep, but if you share 10, 16 h deal the account holder could get by with the argument its the only thing he does...

Get a life, its just a game. Even so, I love it and my respect goes to those over 50 out there - mostly non knight characters. Knight over 50 - done by so mnay....

I remember that goofy interface, lol. With the almost invisible mana bar and the "mechanical" effects when you expanded it. Heheh. After they changed it I died a couple times because I wasn't used to not being able to see a huge red orb for my life bar...LOL.

+17 AC bonus...+18 ac without +...-10 from the ac that you start with...so it equals -25 ac...so 95-25= 70...divide 70 into 6...it equals out to be 11.666666....is that i skin or skin or just sheild? does he have blessed armor?? b/c if it just the plain sheild spell spell that mean he has +11 for each of his armor and a +12....i guess its possible for one character to have all that...since you can buy your items with real cash over at korea -.-;

OnlyM3, I am SURE he finds your arguement laughable. For one, I'm sure he has respectable base MR at such a high level. For two, I trust that he knows how to deal with that kind of thing. Hell, I'd bet balls he could end you good before para took hold. Not saying it would be impossible, but the odds are VERY much against it. I'd say it would take a VERY well coordinated attack by a number of mages, elves and level 52 knights.

Hell, what if you DO freeze him? You think your KBBs are going to tickle him to death or what? Fire-storm? What? You got nothin ;)

no, you used to be able to put comr on and only comr then use soda and it would destroy but you would keep the mr it gave, then keep doing this until you had 100% mr, but it wore off after you restarted

I'd like to know what it is that all the "this guy has no life" people do all day long which Poseidon is missing out on.

He's idolized by millions of people for his determination. He has national fame. His property is worth thousands of dollars, which he built out of nothing. Most importantly, he enjoys what he is doing.

Fame, riches and happiness is all I want out of life. Hopefully by the time I die, I'll have at least happiness. He has all three. Do you?

mm... i still think the old interface can see more ground than the new one o.o;
poor knight >.< 4x harder to get to lvl 75.... but need like ONE more level to get 1k hp ^^ he should be able to take atleast 3 hits of a dragon
even my mage can take 2 hits -.-; with 80% mr thou, MAYBE mr really helps on blocking the dragon's attack
all he has to do is get a few mage friends to heal him till the dragon is dead =)~
then.... he will be the richest player in lineage ^^
well... it might never work thou lol

mm.... +10 tsu... it's time for him to make a +10 cross bow ^^

25 is highest with stats not overall lets say u have 25 str base at 26 u recieve no extra dmg but with str spell its diff which he has on to get 29str.24str is same as 25 str BASE thast why he went to 24 then with str spell +5 = 29.

1. Congrats to POS for such an incredible job. Leveling to 52 is already not an easy task, to 70....wow. I'm possitive that there are multi-users playing.
Doesn't take a genious to figure this out.

2. I would believe most of his armor items are at least +9. He is most likey eskined, blessed armor. With iron skin, I believe he would surpass the -100ac mark.

3. I don't know why everyone is crying about how they want dk morph bad, yet they do not take actions for it. You want the level, you go hunt/level up. Same works for having godly items.

Side note: I see nothing wrong with having multi users. As long as their is some form of restriction. Max 5 users per account. Reason why American servers have the no multi user policy is because of our low ranged customer base of 1500 users on all 3 servers. If we have accounts being shared, NC would only have about 300-500 monthly subscriptions. That wouldn't work, would it?

According to Posiedon, even with his amazing AC and stats, he has hard time fighting 2 lvl 50+ knights by himself. he's certainly a hardcore lineage player, but not a lineage god. you remember how Neo stopped bullets in the air in the Matrix? he's gotta do something like that in lineage to be called god =)

Amer I really wonder how you came up with all that crap concerning poseidons fame/fortune/happyness...

Idolized by millions of people.... ok we'd have to verify what millions is?? And on top of that... idolized?

His property worth thousands... yeah I heard some ppl would waste thousands of bucks buying UO characters... maybe his char (if he'd sell) would sell for good bucks... but is that fortune? If you got a car... or a house... that's simply worth more than that... If he'd ever sell that account, he'd not make more money than 1 $ an hour considering the time he spent building up that char...

Happyness... that guy might feel happy... but I'm telling you he isn't he's probably missing a lot of stuff that'd really make him feel happy... you know what... whenever I spent 4 hours playing that game instead of doing my homeworks... jeez I feel so guilty, it was fun but I'm telling you... that's not what makes me happy... in 10 years, he'll grow up to realize what time he wasted doing that... anything he would have done else with the same hardyness would have made him such a much greater man... think about it.

I'm not saying it isn't cool that someone attained that, I'm even very happy to see it's possible (you can lookit my first post above) but I wouldn't be the one who'd put an a loan on my life that way, hell no!

it is a national pastime over there. it's like basketball in the US, football(soocer) in Europe and S.America, Hockey in Canada, and in Korea it's gaming.

Korea is like the video gamer's central there. they don't come out with the best games, but they have the best and most obsessed players. they use to own every event in WCG because they're the first country to have pro gaming leagues. those players are paid to kick butt in those games...

and lineage is the most popular mmorpg that ever existed. u don't get much more famous than MJ in the US do u? or Pele in soccer? he's pretty much the same in korea. although i guess peeps in korea wanna kill him more than get his autograph in game =) but ya. the entire country knows your character online. u would never be half as well known in 10 lifetimes

Okay, you see how all there are some people who responded to this post saying "Wow, he is a lineage god" and variations thereof? Now if the US market has 5000 total users and the number of people who had active Lineage accounts in Korea last year is 2+ million (out of a national population of around 40 million), I'm talking about that. I don't expect you to be familiar with Korean culture as dafish is referring to, but computer gaming is not like it is in the United States. There are hundreds of TV shows about it, cable channels *devoted* to just watching people play, 24 hours a day. Businesses which are devoted to meeting gamers needs. And it's not just about Lineage -- Starcraft, Warcraft, many others. All the shows we have about movies, movie reviews, etc. -- replace "movies" with "video games" and you have an idea. If American teens go out to movies or baseball games with their friends, Korean teens go to the cyber cafe.

What right does anyone have to judge what is happiness to others? There are people who sit in garages all day long, tinkering with their car, learning about mechanics. Is that happiness? Is that person happier than a mother or father who devoted their life to raising a child? Someone won the lottery and decided to never work again and play golf all day long. Is that person happy? Happiness is not for others to decide. You decide what makes you happy. You should only hope that you find something that can make you happy. Don't waste time worrying about others and judging their hobbies. :)

if he has alot of money stashed he can get even better ac with the following: some dragon scale armor(+8 or higher lol), crystal gloves(+8 or higher) and i noticed his helmet isnt a red knights hood o.o so that too (+8 or higher)

and amer about ppls hobbies that like to cook and eat food, i hope they dont eat too much, they can get hurt (stomach cramps,the runs, and obescity o.o lol)

and hopefully whoever the guy is, I hope he doesnt hurt him self playing so much, there are tests showing long exposure to computers or tv can mess ur eyes up and/or possible seizures, for example take that rat thing that was on tv with blinking cheeks in korea, it sent like 200 toddlers to the hospital because of certain light waves the graphics was emiting.

matter of fact when its night and a lvl 50 person in beleth or bapho morph comes by and attacks something, that light makes me go into a seizure if i dont leave the screen, honestly. maybe i should report this to my doctor. lol

kv is better than rkh in AC that is
only advantage rkh has is +6 safety which is most likely pointless for Pos
your vision only gets worse because of the radiation that the television or monitor is emitting to u (well...if u got a lcd screen, u're safe from that)
like watching the tv with lights out or too close is bad for your eyes as they say...which I seen that warning in all animes nowadays..
blinking screens just give me a headache as it would to most
and if u really r having seizures cuz of that flashing
maybe u should see a doctor lol

why dunt he wear a shield of eva (+20 hp)? that way he would have 1005hp^^ show off his hp rather than ac...i think lineage does allow 1000+hp to fit o.o

Not sure how accurate or reliable this is, but I've heard that poseidon is 3 people who own internet cafes. That means 24/7 leveling.

Poseidon owns all 5 castles on the Giran server.
