Forgotten Island items

Lineage Playforum (http://community.playforum.net:8080/bbs/prog/column?action=read&iid=10051003&kid=1603) and Jude1004.com (http://lineage.jude1004.com/news/index.asp?pg=/news/view.asp&cts_id=3356) reported a few new items on the live Korean servers.

First of all, the Troll Belt finally has made it to the live Korean servers. It's not as great as the Ogre's Belt, but probably more common (we are guessing). If you forgot the stats, it's: weight 50, AC 0, increases max weight by 10% and can be worn by Prince/Princess, Knight and Elf.

Another player found the Ancient Plate Mail (AC -16, weight 280, Knight only). He found the Sealed Ancient Plate Mail from a Forgotten Island Drake and the Ancient Scroll from a Forgotten Island Minotaur. He commented that the best team (in his opinion) is 3 elves and 2 knights.

Finally, someone created a +7 Ancient Crossbow (3/3, +5 to hit, +2 damage, 1 handed, Elf only, weight 30) and did some damage tests against someone with a normal crossbow.

In this first test, you can see that the player on the right (the one with the +7 Ancient Crossbow) is about even with the player with the +7 Crossbow.

Then, the elf with the Ancient Crossbow used his free hand to equip a shield.. 'Nuff said.

well if you look at the stats for the ancient xbow, they are the same as xbow, only an extra +2 to hit (and the 1 handed thing) so it makes sense that the ancient xbow would do about the same dmg as an xbow
that extra 8-11ac would go a long way to making elves a match for knights

PatrynMagus: troll belt will add 10% to weight, ogre belt adds 20%. So I would say the ogre belt is better. ;)

Lets just say when this xbow comes to the live servers here I will renew everything, pay my taxes, the child support I owe, do community service, and feed all the kids in Madagascar (are there kids in madagascar?)

See what good deeds you would be doing NCI if you just brought this to our servers? Think of the kids NCI! You like kids dont you NCI?

I can see ppl will have trouble hunting FI alone
so it will require a team effort to survive
not some solo hunt where u can be all greedy for drops hehe

I thought x-bow is only +2 hit bonus
so the ancient x-bow would be +3 hit bonus more
it is basically a hunter bow with x-bow stats for elves only which is really good for pvp and bosses

I hope we get forgotten island soon
then my friends will return to lineage
and we'll all hunt there as one big team hehe

of course not #16; that might make people play mages again. Poor NC would have to think of even more nerfs.

I can see it now...
Tomarrow (11/27) there will be an update on the live US servers at 10:00 AM CST. The update will include:
We are removing all level seven and above spells.
The Staff of Strength staff is being replaced with the Staff of Negative Hit Bonus
The elf class gets double current regeneration away from mother three and triple at the mother three
Mages are losing their left arms
The new sword Sword Of Butchering(27/27) -14 AC, enchantable to +9, is now being added. This sword is knight/elf/prince only.

Not many useful updates or new items, if any (aside from csom)for mages at all.

It angers me when i'm trying to put out the flames on a fire archer with a wind shuriken for 5 minutes, while knights and elves could better body-check them to death.

I swear, the second NC makes staves 2-handed (and you know they will eventually), i'm gunna so totally take it and keep paying and playing my mage like an idiot.

But I think it would be really good for high level spells to be unsealed only on FI. Like meteor strike and stuff. That would make them rare and fair in conjuction with their power.

If I'm not mistaken...troll belt auto-slows the person wearing it, so IMO it's useless unless you're overweight and something heavy drops.

Im a 8 str mage i can carry like 500 weights, if i put on a troll belt i get 10% more to stuff down my bag, but the item weights 50.

Brave of those elfs to duel when so many scary hugh monsters on same screen.

it loox like NC is finally paying attention 2 us dex elvez... thay realized dat no matter how hard we tried, beating down a mage or knight of da same lev is nearly impossable (unless sum freak accident like lag 4 them and all crit hitz 4 us) every1 know'z dat aside from prince(ss) (which really isnt considered a class anywayz) elves were @ da bottom of da food chain and now there doin sumthin about it... ever since DEX/AC update its jus been goin uphill 4 us with elvin magic, mith arrow'z, and now an uber powerful bow DAT we can use our famous +6 ES'z with... WOW... but ya now magez r starting 2 fall 2 da bottom... o well elves suffered thru it and NC'z making up 4 it so i suppose they'll do sumthin wen da time is rite

P.S. con/str elves suk give it up elves r meant 2 b DEX ... we got higher ER, harder hitz, now we can also use shieldz all u got is bout 150 more HP... o not 2 mention DEX/AC

also korean server doesnt have soft/ac, so it's more useful...here with soft ac, it's not as good QQ"" i still think sayha bow is better =P ancient xbow is exactly a 1 handed hunter's bow. +5 hit +1 dmg ^^

I think that's right, but if you're planning to go 52+ (almost all cases, nah)
then you would go con, cuz then you could just pump into dex.

Hahaha! Svcks to be mages. I think even a team of 5 elves instead would do wonders considering they can all heal themselves. Knights are there b/c they dont want someone in coi to wait and let the drops fall to ground then some id*ot un-cloak and steal it.

Con elf can beat a Dex elf with same lvl, ac, and weapon, any day.
Con elf using BOE and DEX AMMY and DEX spell can have 20 DEX while
having 3 to 4 hp more per lvl than a dex elf.

Taera's post is a lil over exagerated but pretty true
Its seem like NC wants everyone to play knight/elf only.
They should just take mage out of the game completely, cuz they have
no chance one on one against same lvl/ac knight or elf.
Thank god they took SOM out of the game, cuz its more useless than
a dagger, a mage with 8 str and using SOM cant even hit a goblin at lvl 5.

There are only two lvl 52+ elves on Ken and both are con. MintChip was lvl 50 but she delvled and she's a dex elf. So now, there are no lvl 50+ dex elves on Ken. How do con elves suck again?

However, there is no way that this bow alone will make either a Dex or Con elf stronger or better in relation to the other. All elves get the same bonus from the bow so it is a wash. It will make any elf stronger against other classes and mops.
Con elves will not be able to do as much damage with it as a Dex elf and it will not magically give Dex elves an extra 150 hp's.

The only thing I will concede on the Con/Dex debate is that if a Con elf ever gets to lvl 56 and puts all stat points in Dex, from what I know about the Dex bonus's, Con would rule. (I just wonder how much damage I would do if I put all 6 points in Dex as well, 24 base Dex, hmmm. But, I'll never know.)

con elves are good for lv-ing and when u have less ac or lots of lag, that extra hp can save ur xp most of the time
dex elves are good for money hunting with dogs and sieging because they can deal better damage on a bow and have a better accuracy of hitting the target

i think i'll just go grab that ancient sword of arse kicking instead of this

balance... One class does not rule all.. the balance of classes and the 'correct' playing of each is what wins.. No, a mage cannot go have a swinging contest with a knight or an elf, but he can certainly curse a knight to the point of extinction, a knight slaughters an elf, and the elf slaughters the mage, its a circle, one knight can fight several elves, one elf can fight several mages, one mage (if quick ;P) can fend off several knights.

Not true, a con/str elf swings faster than knight(non-brave of course; stupid NC, make waffer speed up swords!!) and can have the same ac. The only difference is the +'d Rapier and the +'d Tsu. I have seen many elves beat knights. Now, a dex elf would have trouble beating a knight in a 1:1 duel but at sieges the dex elves are the ones that always make the knights venz - go figure. And with iron skin the elf will probably have better ac than knight. Also, if the elf is a water elf, it would be extremely difficult to end him. With this crossbow a dex elf can take on a knight, maybe not beating him but definitely putting up a match.

A mage using sunburst can end a dex elf but not always. Depends on the items. And with summon, even mage can end a knight. And if NC would quit nerfing the mages (the lessened summon was about the only smart nerf; the SOM should have stayed the same or shouldnt have been nerfed as much)

Now, you con elves think by adding the dex stuff and using bow you will be a match for dex elves. Sorry, but the dex elves also use those items so go figure. We will do the same or more dmg and have better ac. Sword elf vs. bow elf though....sometimes could go either way but mostly will lean toward sword.

Sorry for the long post but some people are pretty stupid and dont take the time to think through what they are saying.
