Lands of Aden Wipe

As a reminder, we will be wiping the Lands of Aden server on Monday, December 2nd. The wipe is currently scheduled to take place at approximately 10:00 AM Central US and all systems are expected to be back online by 12:00 PM (Noon) Central US time. This wipe will remove all character, Pledge, and Housing/Castle data from the Lands of Aden Server.

Once the wipe is completed, the Lands of Aden server will be available as a server option from the regular Lineage login screen. You will be able to use your main Lineage client to access the server. The alternate beta installation of the client will continue to work, though we do recommend using your primary Lineage client to access the server.

Please note: The Lands of Aden server will continue to remain in a beta period, though we will be treating it as a primary server as much as possible. This means that while we will endeavor not to make significant changes to the server without notice, they may still occur.

Don't know why wiping the server after a holiday weekend should upset anybody. We've known from the start that the wipe would be December 2nd. There'll be plenty more long holiday weekends to play the live version. Sure do wish I had that 5-day weekend you're having tho'. :-)

Why am I not surprised to see this. Just like Ken and Dep are still beta servers, so will be LoA server! How funny! That means it'll get the same hosings from NCI as the other live servers. Just call it a Test server without wipes.

I will for sure play this server. And for you people who say this is a newb server... Ive been playing lineage for over 3 years, and im happy to have a new live server. If you read, it is no easier than Dep or Ken, it just has different features for newbies. And while you people keep doing the same old same old in dep/ken/test, on LoA we will have many new things to discover. We have new quests and such. I have been waiting for a new live server for almost 2 years now. It just occurred to me, everyone was 52+, whats the point in playing? It's so hard to get better than anyone. So now I have a reason to play this new live server.

Good job NC. Just dont wipe LoA ^^

jackdaddy,i agree with you,thats the same reason im going to loa,i just feel like by the time i reach 52 their will be so many more dk's and alot now,i to have been playing for about 3 yrs (well since beta) and we had to roll the dice for stats.hehe(sucks),but i think im ready for a new chalenge aswell..

JackDaddy makes a good point,

it's very discouraging to new players when all those lvl.48-52 players
with +6-8 items are hogging all the hard MOP and camping the bosses.

It's very frustrating for lvl.4x players to have to compete with all
the lvl.5x players in the fire fields for drops and experience.

Every since NCSoft nurfed btele, it's a pain in the butt to have to
walk down through mazes to get to good MOP especially if you are a
DEX Elf or a Mage who can't carry much where dogs are impractical.

Before I left, the only place I enjoyed hunting was underwater cause
I did not have to town so often. But the NPC down there is such a rip
that after a whole weekend underwater, I'd bearly show a profit for it,
only the 10-15% experience points I earned at lvl.47 which i would then
lose on some dumbass siege to a COI'ed FireStorm bastard.

assuming LOA does not get wiped anymore, it will make a nice alternative
at least until the Hidden Island update hits, and all those lvl.5x players
move on to there. (assuming babo NCSoft doesnt screw us on the drops there)

I agree with jackdaddy and gamer3 TOTALLY! I have tons of cash lvl 49 chars on both ken and dep. But soo many people are 50+ makes me feel weak. I LOVE NEW SERVERS, EVERYONE = EQUALS.

If it is now officially in the beta-phase does that mean that it won't get wiped again?
I'm probably going to play LoA because i'm starting brand-new (new account), and LoA's newbie stuff and cool quests will make the journey easier and funner.

This will be like when Ken was made, many people went to it from Dep because it was a new start where everyone was equal.

There is going to be frenzy for the castles, lol.
I remeber on Ken, my friend was the prince of SaiyanBlood and he was the first lvl 25 prince and he got windawood.

EVERYONE note this.... just a hint to you new players. If you want to start off good in LoA, start with a mage or an elf. Make items on one of these chars and make money for your knight or whatever else you might use. ALSO, the only reason chat is lev 90 in LoA is because NC hasnt set it yet. Remember back when dep went from 20, to 15, to 30, to 15, to 30? It just kept changing. I bet NC just didnt set it in LoA because no one had a chance to get to the chatting level.

Chibigoku might not have been the firl lvl 25, but he got there damn fast.

I was always at chibigoku's house and i remeber when he asked the saiyanblood prince if he could adopt the name. He didn't steal any members, his pledge was crappy at first, but over time people joined saiyanblood2 because saiyanblood's prince was being a big jerk.

He didn't need to steal members, he respected and recognized those who helped him get windawood. And when he was receiving taxes, he distributed them evenly throughout the pledge and kept little to himself.

he didnt ask saiyan prince if he could use name heh. He asked if he could be saiyanblood2 <~ subpledge. and he did steal members. I was in original saiyanblood and I know. And orig prince was not being a jerk at all, he got upset at what that loser chibi was doing with his pledge name and quit lineage.
He asked chibi to change pledge name and chibi wouldn't (what a loser).

I don't think anyone will be happy unless a new server starts every three months. It seems like some people have real problems on their current servers. All in all, Lands of Aden will be just the same as the other two servers in a few months, and then, players will want a new server. This will just lead to older servers getting less new users, and us having a bunch of empty servers. There's not enough people on Dep or Ken as it is. Can't we get at least 1000 users on each of those first?

And Jack, to me, 1 MP E-Bolts and perma-haste Skeleton Boots seem to make the beginning levels quite a bit easier. When I was a newbie, the Scarecrows hit back, and they hurt. (That's going to sound really funny in a few years if Lineage is still going.)

yup i saw a lvl 40+person today on loa and he already got rotc,so ppl are going to race to lvl as fast as they can,i cant wait, im leaving dep for loa ,im just tired of lineage and all the dks,its like its not a chalenge anymore and i need a change.so see you all in loa on monday

fine all u peeps go loa, more mop, more castles, more housing for me =D
so what if there's less ppl to participate sieges? there's hardly any action with the current number of players anyway, so what's the big change in siege if u decrease the player base? almost none! o.o

more mop = less mop stealing = more xp for me, even if im not lucky to get all the drops then i can hunt and hunt and not worrying about mop not spawning and when they spawn to a certain amount i'll have a greater chance of getting rare items as i'll kill more often and don't need to have much effort finding them and i'll be uber and then be stronger and then when bored go to antharas or faf and get myself killed while trying to 1:1 it o.o

OH, that server will wipe if necessary (to revert changes caused by hack/major bugs/dc/whatever) but probably not periodical like test server

I think this wasn't a wise move
the amount of online users on both our current servers isn't even that great
they shouldn't have even bothered with making a test server since it doesn't test anything and lots of ppl go there to play
loa is just another server that will leech away current users to and leaving the normal servers empty...
if we had like over 1000+ users on each server like what someone else mentioned, then I think this move would be wise
in the past, no one really thought about lvling up to 50+
now ppl know how it is done, what they need to hunt and how long it will take them
I'm sure the fast lvlers with time on their hands will reach lvl 50 within like 2 - 3 months
not only will they be reaching that lvl, but considering it is a new server, they'll have the bosses all to themselves plus with their friends helping and they get all the great items in the game
u ppl r sick of lvl 50+ chars on our current server
well, I'm pretty sure there is players prepared to begin as a newbie and reach lvl 50 as soon as possible to be the strongest on the server...
of course, like most ppl I see...
all they can do once that happens...comment on their lives with the typical "he has no life" or something that is negative...
watch and see..
it will happen and there is nothing u can do about...
loa will just be another server like dep&ken except with different newbie items...
and when FI comes to live servers (DAMMIT NCI! BRING IT OVER ALREADY!!)...u'll be crawling back to dep/ken/test to check those locations...
if...it is sometime soon..
cuz lvling to lvl 46+ on a fresh server as a newbie....is difficult compared to test server newbie...without the large amount of adena from mops...plus alot will be exploring the new items...
the common player...it will take awhile...
oh yea..
hell no...not gonna come to loa server....more mops/drops for me on dep....^_^

So will NC have a little mini event before wipe? That's what they do every test server wipe. I heard that a mini event for LoA is that u walk around and find random items on the floor going to adena all the was to dais or whatever. Also you can kill lower lvl mops (like goblins) and they give you a good weapoin or so. It's kinda like the Increased Drop Event, but I have no clue on weather its true or false. It might just be a rumor. We'll have to find out. =)

Damn.....LoA server goin live on monday....damn why now....when i just switch to dep server....heck im doin good in there....and now to play loA, i got to start all over again!!!! so im gonna stay in dep.

Well anyway, i agree with the above comments, Nci should really start a new server unless they take out one(which i believe they cant do hehe) or else the servers will not be balanced. Comon, i bet Nc thinks tat in time players will move to LoA when players sees that loA gets more updates and items added than other server. And when all players move to LoA, they will eventually close dep server.

I dont think they will close ken because, you need a pk server and a non pk server. Its like tat. Whats the point of having 2 alike server? See wat i mean.
Nc made a bad choice.....perhaps LoA is too easy, people will get bored fast.

i dont think i will go to LoA, starting over is damn waste of time.

The pre-wipe LoA event begins today (Wednesday)! Monitor99 announced ingame last night that wacky things will start to happen today in LoA and last until the wipe. Piles of money and/or items in Giran Square, bosses fighting each other, and any other wacky thing the monitors think up. Check it out!

There's a post from Capt on Lin.Com called "Who Wants to be a millionaire?"
He says to check your char's LOA inventory & thanks for helping in the beta.
Sounds like the pre-wipe fun has already begun...and I can't check mine coz' I'm at work. :-(
The best thing I have discovered so far on LoA is 5-6% exp loss at death. That makes it VERY different from Ken and Dep. Most importantly, NC Austin isn't bound to NC Korea with this server. That, alone, should make for some very interesting changes in the future.
I doubt I will forsake my lvl 48 knight on Ken. But I will definitely play on LoA.
I don't think this server was a mistake at all. I think it was an extremely intelligent business move. Thanks again to everyone at NC Austin! Excellent work!

Chibi kept little for himself huh? Then why did he only give *some* people money to help defend and when he did he only gave about 1k. Sure that was a decent amount back then but it wasnt enough to defend a castle. If chibi was anything, he was a bitch. Yes a bitch. Not the pms'ing women kind of bitch but the kind that does whatever his master sais. Chibi did whatever the mercenaries said. EVERYTHING. Why? So he could keep windawood. Why would he want to keep windawood if he wasnt keeping any money (or very little) for himself? Simple, he was keeping money for himself. Plently of it.
This isnt something i barely recollect or heard from other players. I was there. And I have a good memory when it comes to pointless bullshit like this@_@
Hmm should I play this new server? Maybe. The reason I moved to ken from dep was to start fresh, get away from all the high levels who controled the economy. But look what happened to ken. After a few weeks, everyone had made enough money to start knights and did so. Loa might be different then ken though since we will be able to keep certain players in check (pk them) but I'm pretty sure history will repeat it self. The weak asian pledges who arnt allied with the ones currently in control of ken and dep will probly group up on loa.
Wonder which minority (irony!) will take control on loa...
Well at least I'l be able to steal some names if I'm quick enough...

whoever said we need 1,000 users on one server is not right,come on nc cant handle that many ppl on,what do you think ppl were compaining about,with 500 ppl on the lag is so bad ppl cant play so 1000 ppl would be a joke,and with even 400 ppl on nc dont have enough mops to cover us all thats why ppl are getting mad ,we have everyone fighting over the few mops we do have and im trying to reach lvl 50,i sure dont want to share the mop im hitting with others so they get the % also,thats just not good,i would have stayed with dep if nc would have had more mops,not just the events,i mean more mops so ppl dont fight over the few we have,how are we supose to lvl up in places like fv when their is more ppl than mops?,did you think of that?i know lots of ppl who quit because to many players alredy causing lag...btw most ppl were not complaining about a new server just b/c they were tired of all the high lvl peeps,most of the complaining was b/c of all the koreans owning the server,so they wanted their own.. thats my openion and not everyone will agree with me and thats ok,but like i said before its my openion...thx

Since LOA is a seperate new server that won't be compared in achievement
to dep, ken, or the other asian servers, the NCSoft-USA should do this;

Let us roll any Character attributes we want!

Give us all 75 points to allocate as we wish
with 7min 18max (accept str up to 20) and let
us make whatever we wish in any class.

Post rolling, Pre Giran, we used to be
able to do this, and boy was it great!

It would be so much better now that many
of the attributes actually mean something,
and resources like LC give us the info we
need to make much more interesting rolls.

Shame they missed out on this opportunity.
I'll bet doing this one change idea would
bring back a hundred old paying players.

Rolling was good in theory but since people liked to cheat... it sucked.
I dont see how it would bring back old players. Also, for the people who didnt cheat, rolling a character for 5 hours isnt any fun either. Rolling was hard man >_<
