test server update
A new update was published to the US Test server, the following changes were observed:
  • Dick (the dog NPC in Kent) has had a name change. Now he is Rick.
  • Singing Island -> Talking Island and Hidden Valley -> Silver Knight's Town teleport NPC now costs money. I'm not sure how much the cost is, because the NPC did not specify, but my level 6 mage had 1768 adena and it still said "not enough adena"
  • There are four new NPCs (you can tell by the filenames when it is downloading): Randolf, Sheldon, Tarnac and Melissa. Randolf and Sheldon appear to react differently to each class (there was randolfp-e.html, randolfk-e.html, randolfw-e.html and randolfe-e.html.. see a pattern) and we got an email from drex who said he saw the NPC at the right in Talking Island (which I couldn't get to :( Additionally, an anonymous contributor says that the ??? NPC asked for some kind of scales. So, it looks like it may be a quest based on the Midnight in TI fiction posted on the official site. I hope they introduce a new item! Based on what people have said who know the storyline of Lineage, the midnight on TI story refers to a sorceress which is represented in-game by Ramia. It is quite possible this new quest will require us to bring a Ramia scale for a quest item. Woohoo!
    update:
    Based on everyone's comments, I went looking for more things and found these new mops. I think there are two varieties of each. The green Serpents of Elindare appear to be between levels 6-9, while the blue ones appear to be level 13+. Additional, one of the Minions of Elindare is level 6-12, while the other is 13+. I've found them in both SWL as well as west of Gludio and near the Gludio-Kent path. They are aggressive. I'm still collecting info, so I'll be updating this post.
    Well, here is the prize, care of Mithical (thanks!!). A silver serpent necklace, +10 HP, from Randalf (who seems slightly misplaced in TI). Serpent scales look exactly like mermaid scales. I added the amulet it to the armor guide. I like it! When I was a newbie, an orc ammy was way too unrealistic, but I think serpent ammy will be something everyone can have. This is an excellent low-level quest idea, in my opinion. :) Now if we can just find Sheldon and see if he has another quest, maybe there's another item!

    More to ImhoteP... you need ten silver Serpent scales to give to the npc. You get these from a new "silver" ramia located in DV (that's what someone told me.) You get a Silver necklace (which looks like a +stat amulet) which gives you +10 hp. When dropped on the ground the amulet looks like any other amulet on ground. The scales dropped on ground look like silver pile of sand, and when in inventory look like normal dragon scales but silver.

    Wrong.
    SWL is not full with BKS anymore.instead of BKS, Full with new darkelves and new ramias.And in DV, in heine and in lots of places else.

    Also you should notice Kurtz is once again removed from the game. He no longer spawns with his 8 BK's at beginning of night time. I'd rather have Kurtz then this almost useless +10 HP Amulet.

    There must be two quests to correspond with the 2 new NPCs. Anyone know where to find these NPCs? I'm still looking...

    Getting new quests is always a good thing to hear. For knights have 3 quests already. (dragon slayer quest, Gerengs, and the one for the shield) while other classes only get 1.

    Those new mops are like weaker version of darkelfs and ramias? I suppose they're part of the storyline. This "pretender king" is replacing his trusty black knights with evil creatures created by Elindare. (that must be that sorceress?) Better hunt some bks while I still can.

    Amer i tried to tp off singing island today on the test server with over 4k and it still said not enough adena. I think nc dosnt want the poor newbs to leave.

    Darklyte, Amer, I think the new tp npcs tp rates hasn't been establihed yet. So thats why they would say that you don't have enough. 4k+ from a newbie to tell to main areas is crazy, it would take the newbies forever to reach their respected areas.

    For some reason i keep thinking that the Test server's more fun than the Dep right now... They get all this new stuff and see new things first every time. Prob cos nothing much ever happens in dep, and when there is something going down at christmas, i'm in Hong Kong, meaning that my IP is banned >.< WHY ME~~~~

    Yup, it seems just excellent for the lower level players, specially since orc ammy price went way up recently. Randalf is prob on TI because TI is supposed to be the only place not under the control of the evil king. Maybe the other one is in skt? hmmm, nah he would be noticed then. Sorry I don't play on test server. I like hearing about the new stuff being on test server before it appears on the server I'm on. Gets me more excited :)

    To Juno, I didn't play US server this summer because HK server was doing a promo where they gave 400 hours of free play. (yup that's right. We pay for hours not months.) And i thought that was better because that means i dun have to play everyday of the month after i paid for it. I also thought the rules on US server made more sense. But NCI told me any IP from HK is banned -.-

    regards to HK server
    well i went on the hk server for a few mins, but for some reason i couldn't see the bottom of my screen..so me and my cousin just gave up and played on the US server.. and it worked during the summer.. r u guys sure they banned the hk ip's? hope not T_T...
    i gota play lineage during christmas T_T

    The Elindare mops were posted to the US servers 12/4 AM, as well
    as the NPC randalf and Sheldon!!! I've already started collecting
    my scales ^^

    Also, the serpents aren't aggresive, only the Minions...

    The Minions drop mithril arrows as well.

    Serprents can drop multiple scales per mop

    I have run into both lvls of the minions and serpents. Looks like they will have the same attcks as the de and ramias ,lets hope its not like the dark mage they all drop the same. I also got a elven bow from a minion so it looks like they will drop some elven stuff too besides arrows
